Regarding the ability to record your own information online as part of the first digital census

June 5, 2026

As part of the first digital census, the facility to record one's own information online (self-enumeration) will be available from June 16
The time is till June 30. The system is for individuals to submit their family information through the online portal in advance of the census officials visiting their homes from July 1 to 31 and collecting information. The process can be completed in 15-20 minutes.
After selecting the state on the portal https://se.census.gov.in, you can register by entering the name and mobile number of the head of the family. One mobile number can be used only for one family. You can complete the verification through OTP by selecting the language of your choice. Once the language is selected, it cannot be changed later. The exact location of the house can be marked on the map on the portal using a 'red marker'. After answering the census-related questions and checking the information, you can submit the final submission (Final Submit). The information can also be recorded and saved before the final submission. (Save as Draft)
Once the information is successfully recorded, you will receive an 11-digit Self-Enumeration ID (SE ID) starting with 'H'. You can verify your information digitally by handing over the ID when the census officials reach your home. Those who do not submit their information by June 30 will not be able to complete the self-enumeration. No. The officials will visit your homes to collect the information. More information can be found at https://se.census.gov.in/.
